As Japan faces an aging society with a declining birthrate, establishing a system aimed at accepting foreign doctors has become a pressing issue. It is a steep path that foreign doctors must take before obtaining a medical license and working as a doctor. On top of the paperwork surrounding immigration, visas, and daily life, there are complicated procedures before obtaining a medical license, including Japanese language exams, Japanese language diagnostic ability tests, preliminary exams, and the internship program. Information about training hospitals and the matching system is also scarce. Many doctors leave Japan for a short duration, and there are also differences in the culture and medical care in one’s own country. In this project, we will develop a platform where foreign doctors can play an active role in Japan.
